2013 Seasons Greeting

Seasons Greetings!  I want to share with you all my art news this year.

First, I am honored to be exhibiting in "City Of Women" in The Carr Center, downtown Detroit, curated by Carl Wilson, the 2013 Kresge award winner!  The Carr Center has a beautiful gallery space.  Ten of my large paintings are on display in the upstairs Masco Gallery, along with the stunning artworks from four other artists through out the building.

My painting "Girls Night Out" was selected as the lead picture to advertise the November's events newsletter of Art Detroit Now!!

I am very pleased to share with you that my paintings have won a few awards this year.

"Art Of Fire" won the Juror's Award at Northville Art House All Media Show, juried by Matt Eaton, a globally recognized artist who is the director/curator of the Red Bull House of Art in Detroit.

"Art of Fire"

"Market Street" won an Honorable Mention at Boston Mills Artfest.  Boston Mills Artfest is a nationally recognized fine art and fine craft show, with many well-known artists from the country.  I am very pleased to receive this award.

"Market Street" also won the David & Alice Metteri Memorial award in the Views and Visions fine art competition, juried by Robert Perish!

"Market Street"

"Field" won The Second Place Award in Dexter Paint Out's quick draw event.  It was very fun, exciting, and a great time to paint in plein air with the artists.

Lastly, I am very happy to let you know about my first commissioned project.  I was accepted into the juried "25 Years 25 Works" commission for First Martin Corporation earlier this year.  Twenty-four Michigan artists were selected to paint scenes and views of Ann Arbor.  All the commissioned paintings are on display in “Ann Arbor Painted” exhibit in Ann Arbor Art Center currently, and after the exhibit, will be hung in locations around Ann Arbor.

Thank you for reading my newsletter.  Please let me know if you have any questions or comments regarding my work.
